Signal Vault ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Payment information: Processed entirely by Stripe. Signal Vault never stores your full card number or banking information. We retain only transaction records (amount, date, plan type) provided by Stripe's webhooks.
  • Email address: Provided through Stripe at checkout. Used for subscription receipts, billing notices, and service communications.
  • Support communications: Messages sent to us via Discord support tickets or email.

1.2 Discord Data

When you connect your Discord account for role verification, we access:

  • Your Discord user ID, username, and avatar (read-only)
  • Your membership status and roles in the Signal Vault Discord server

This data is used solely for verifying subscription eligibility before checkout and for managing your Discord role access. Discord access tokens are stored only in your browser's sessionStorage and are never sent to our servers.

We access Discord data client-side only — no Discord token or user data is transmitted to any Signal Vault backend.

1.3 Automatically Collected Information

Our website (hosted on GitHub Pages) does not use cookies or tracking scripts. GitHub may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring page) as part of their hosting infrastructure. See GitHub's Privacy Statement for details.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Processing and managing your subscription through Stripe
  • Verifying Discord role requirements before checkout
  • Sending subscription receipts, billing notices, and service updates
  • Responding to support requests
  • Enforcing our Terms of Service

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

3.1 Stripe

Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. When you subscribe, you are subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy (stripe.com/privacy) and Terms of Service. Stripe stores your payment information, billing history, and subscription details. You can manage your payment information through the Stripe billing portal.

3.2 Discord

Our Discord community is operated on Discord, Inc.'s platform. Discord's Privacy Policy (discord.com/privacy) governs the data you provide to Discord. We use Discord's OAuth2 API to verify your server roles. We do not store Discord tokens on any server.

3.3 GitHub Pages

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may collect standard web server logs. See GitHub's Privacy Statement (docs.github.com/en/site-policy/privacy-policies) for details.

4. Data Retention

We retain subscription-related information (email, plan history, billing records) for 7 years for tax and compliance purposes. Support communications are retained for 2 years. You may request deletion of your data (except where retention is legally required) by contacting us.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Opt out of marketing communications (unsubscribe link in all emails)
  • Data portability (export your subscription history)

6. Children's Privacy

Signal Vault is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately.

7. Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant). Discord tokens are stored only in sessionStorage in your browser and are never transmitted to our servers. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be announced in the Signal Vault Discord server. Continued use of our Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
